Pork Steak

Juicy, tender, soft, rich tep's pork steak.




In this post I'll teach you how I made my own style of pork steak. Adjust the measurement according to your like.


Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo of Boston Butt (make it a pork steak cut)

  • 2pcs of Lemon or (30 pcs of Calamansi)

  • 1pc of Onion

  • 1 1/4 cup of soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup of oil

  • 1 cup of dark brown sugar


Procedure:

  1. Cover the pork chop with a cling wrap and add only a little bit of pressure when tenderizing it with the meat tenderizer.

  2. Marinate the tenderized pork with the soy sauce and lemon. (Minimum of 2hrs, 24hrs for best taste.)

  3. Use a cast iron pan for frying and put it on medium heat. (Use any available pan you have. Cast iron pan is used to seared foods.) Fry at least 10-12 mins both sides.

  4. In another large pan transfer the oil that you used to fry the pork steak and add the marinade along with the fried pork steak. Then add the sugar.

  5. Put the onions before you turn off the heat. (This is for the onion to not be overcooked, and don't forget the slice of onion is round.)

  6. Serve it with a fried rice, you can add tomatoes or cucumber on the sides.



The reason why we need to tenderize the pork is for it to be tender and juicy when cooked. Also the reason why I chose to use Lemon it is because it is the most acidic citrus fruit, and the acidity of lemon also helps the pork to tenderize even more.
